Anyone have a police scanner?

I had a police scanner when i was living in CA but it went missing right before i moved... (or its in a box i've yet to find) anyways, i miss listening to the police, and i'm thinking of getting a new scanner, this one with trunking. i'm thinking of the Uniden BC246T http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/BC246T. anyone else have a scanner? any suggestions? pros or cons of doing hand held over a mobile base station?

I have a radio shack model with triple trunking (I have no idea what that means) . It's hand held and I like that it is because I can take it from the house to the ride etc. I think it was between $150 and $199 and seems to be good quality. The buttons light up for night operation and you can plug in ear plugs to keep from annoying your wife!
If you can enlighten me about trunking that would be cool.

i got a rat shack PRO-2055. this thing is great. i had a local guy here program all the police/fire/med stuff into it. its got a 1000 frequency memory, and they are all used! if there is anything going on worth listening to in 50 miles any direction on the police/fire/med channels .. i will hear it.

it retails for $200 and i got the radio with it programmed for $100. no complaints here!

Top of the line for sure
I would like to get a scanner for sure one day, will have to check up on it more.

As I sit in my recliner during the weekend nights I often will hear sirens from units going past my place or further up the road in the distance.

It peaks my curiosity as to where they are headed and what is taking place.
