Tweeters in the front "sails"

How do you get the sails off to replace the tweeters with new ones? Just pull?

Also, any advice on crossover placement, possibly in the doors, would be great. I just bought some separates from Crutchfield very cheaply and are installing them this weekend. Don't laugh...I got Blaupunkt 6 3/4 separates for the front doors for $59 and 5 1/4 in separates for the rear doors, they were $49.

I am now looking for a decent quality 4-channel amp on the cheap to power them.

Thanks for the comments and advice.
David

If the crossovers have tweeter attenuation circuits or midrange adjustments I'd locate them somewhere in the dash where it's easiER to get to them. If not, toss them in the doors somewhere being sure to check that they do not interfer with window or door lock operation.

My 1990's sail panels pop off with a tab going straight down into the door. But in doing so I broke one and then had to fiberglass it back together... It may be different for your truck than a 2nd gen.

I think if you just pull the top corner it'll just pop off.

It did, popped right off. Very easy install I think. However that factory grill is not very acoustically transparent to me. I think I will install the new ones through the factory grills.
