Tweeter pods in a 95

will the tweeter pods mentioned in this article for the 4-runner, fit on my truck? I think they will, but I want to make sure I Don't waste $40.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Nobody here that I've seen, has installed these in a 95-97 taco

Thanks!!!!!

yes they will work. used to call them sail panels.

but there is something to consider. the plane where the tweeters are, versus where the midwoofer is are now completely diff.

unless you have multiple channel amp setup and have time alignment adjustment on each channel, your ears will tend to pick up the closest thing first... and in this case, the tweets...

best bet? pick up a set of q-logic kick panel pods (or have them custom made) and it aligns the tweeter in a better plane with the mids...

just my 2 cents...

do you have another speakers right now, in the fronts?

dont let me discourage you though. if the mids are close enough to the sail panels, they may just work for you.

back the OLD OLD days, i experimented with a couple of sweet infinity dome 1" tweets... i temp mounted them all over the place. one place was the sail panels and they were too bright up there for me. after all, it was like close to my left ear.

and this was before i had any other speakers other than the POS oem ones in the front dash.

then one day, my system was stolen.

so started with an install of a kick ass mb quart 218s in the doors. but this was before i got a processor with a built in time delay. so the left side, with the tweeters high up on the door and the mid bass down at the front, where the pockets are (this was years before kick panel installs got popular), i always had to trim the balance since that side was always too loud.

then one day, i bought the processor and it was like night and day. besides the time delay, i was able to dial down the highs (the mb quart tweets are famous for being too "bright") and now, on a good recording of a great singer (jennifer warnes "like a bird on a wire" single) her vocals is front and center, from my seat (who cares about the front passenger though... lol.....).
