Replacing my son's '95 SR5 stereo, need assistance please...
Hello,
My son is wanting to change his current am/fm cass to a cd/mp3 player. The dimensions on the head unit I am looking at is 5.31 x 11.1 x 9.52. HxWxD.
Will this dimension unit fit in his Runner? If not does anyone have dimensions that fit the vehicle. I hate to remove the stereo before having another one to replace it with.
Thanks for any information you can provide.
Safety & blue skies,
DJ

It appears that is a ddouble DIN unit you want to replace it with. It "should" fit, but the problem with the 2nd Gen 4Runners is the surround around the radio and how it may possibly interfere with the trim ring on the potential new radio.
I installed a single DIN unit with storage pocket in mine, but I:
a: removed my trim ring off of my radio
b: redrilled the mounting brackets (the ones mounted to the side of the existing radio) so I could tuck the radio back into the dash more.
THis will be getting yanked out and replaced with a different headunit and a CB where the pocket is, but this is how it is now.
