Inside the radio itself.
The rear channel, as with the front, left and right channels, are determined by a series of transistors, resistors, capacitors, modulators and various other circuitry that makes up the internals of the radio.
If you cannot manage to get the rear speakers to play after removing the body panels, accessing the wiring, jiggling it about a bit and looking for shorts or loose wiringm then it's time for you to do a stereo upgrade and/or get a new head unit... information about which is plentiful on this site and easily accessed with the "search" feature.
Good luck.
