PROBLEM installing cd player

PROBLEM installing cd player

i got the deck out and there is 1 plug in the back of the factory radio. the harness i got is for 82+ toyotas and has 2 seperate plugs...1 for the rear speakers and 1 for everything else. the plug in the back of the factory runs into some kind of small box. please help me out im trying to get this all done. thank you

now i dont quite know about the plugs, but the small box your talking about is the factory speaker amp i believe. it was awhile ago when my deck was installed.

Yes, you bypass the factory amp by unplugging the plug going into it, which is where you'll probally find the plug that you're looking for.

yeah i was just lookin around my garage and found the factory radio and the amp. so yes bypass it.

Exactly correct!

On one side of the toyota amp is the plug that goes to the factory radio you just pulled. On the other side of the amp are two plugs - unplug those and that's what your universal toyota plug fits!
