iPod not recognized??
I recently installed the latest version of iTunes on my wife's PC. I had not synched her iPod (miini) with it for quite some time, sonce we haven't really gotten any new music lately. Well, I plugged it in today because i wanted to add a couple of things to it.
When I plugged it in, it was found by Windows as a USB storage device (so the cable is fine). I did the diagnostic's under the help and it failed the "connectivity with iPod" test.
Any ideas of what I should look at?

This happens to me all the time w/ the new Itunes and my new Nanos. What I do is uninstall Itunes and then reinstall. It's a PITA but it works and only takes a few minutes. I'm glad I don't sync very often or this would really bother me.
I've read through posts on ilounge.com and this seems to be an issue w/ the newer version of Itunes that came w/ the new Nanos and 5th gen video Ipods.

The iTunes software had something on the screen for me to do when I went back over to it. I had to exit iTunes, "stop" the iPod service under My Computer, restart the service, then plug it in and it was recognized. They had further steps to remove iTunes and rreinstall, but I didn'tt do that since it was working. If it does it again, that's what will be in my future.
