How do I wire a capacitor?

I came across a .5 farad cap I bought 6+ years ago for my '92 sound system. I'd like to use it on my new system in the 4Runner but I don't remember how to wire it. Do I run the power to one terminal and then another cable from the other terminal to the amp OR do I run a power cable to the cap and another power cable from the same terminal on the cap to the amp and use the other terminal on the cap to ground?

Or, do I sell it and use the funds to buy an amp for the Camry?

I'm so confused. :pat:

Power Wire cable from battery to cap, then a wire to amp which is mounted on same side (+) of cap. Ground the cap to the same location to which you ground your amp.

Yup, just as he said...power wire from battery to cap, wire to ground, wire to amp.
