Front Speakers Not Working

All factory setup, CD/Tape head unit, but both front speakers are not working. Anyone else ever run into this? And yes, I have adjusted the fade control.

you can test the speakers once they are removed by using a low voltage cordless drill battery or a 9volt battery. I have a 9 volt battery with wire soldered to each terminal. by touching the wires from the battery to the speaker it will cause it to "pop" or move, in some rare instances i have seen a blown speaker pop, but not usually. if they move they should still be good.

I considered, that but found it odd that both would be out. Didn't know if this was something someone else had come across.
