Disable horn on 99 alarm- SUCCESS!!!
Hi all,
Although I've done this a few times before, it seems the manual for my alarm has walked off on it's own and I'm at a loss.
Does anyone have the instructions to cancel the horn confirmation on the alarm? I've had it disabled for years and my mechanic disconnected my battery cable which reset it.
I've searched here and didn't find anything, so if it's been discussed, and you have the link, I'll be happy to look there.
I know it's a turn the key on, press a button and flip the valet switch type of thing, but can't remember exactly.
Thanks for any help.
Mike

Wow. I can't believe in all the searches I've done how many times this question has been asked but not answered. I've done it, at least, 5 times (every time I unhook the battery) but I just can't remember exactly how and don't want to inadvertantly change something I can't change back.
No one has their alarm manual? Or did I just get lucky that I got mine with my truck? Now I'm really bummed I can't find it. I'd be happy to post how to do it. I did find some instructions in another post, but they don't explain how to do this.
Jharris2 PM'd me his instructions. Just a bit different from my system, but should be able to be adapted to my alarm. i.e. His calls for pushing an LED in and out. I don't have an LED I can push in or out, I have a valet switch and a button, but the process sounded very familiar.
I'll check it out tonight.

Well, thanks to Jharris2, my annoying "beep beep" horn confirmation is gone. This is the instructions he sent me for all to enjoy. I'll add the necessary modifications as, um, necessary:
Here's what my manual says:
1. Start with the LED in the off (out) position. Turn the ignition key on then off.
2. Within 10 seconds, cycle the LED to on then off 3 times (press and release LED 6 times). I had to flip my valet switch since I don't have an LED to press
3. If the chirps were off before you started you will hear 1 chirp indicating they have been turned on.
4. If the chirps were on before you started you will hear 2 chirps indicating they have been turned off.
Wahooo! Silence is golden.
