I agree, JL W7s (heck, JL Audio in general) is WAY overrated. There are plenty of alternatives, like Diamond Audio...

well my 2 mtx 80000 15's in an 7.9 cube vented box tuned to 30hz with 2400 watts running to them via jbl bp1200.1's (with a crossover mind you) blew away my friends cartoys installed 2 jlw7's vented box in a land roer discovery with 1200 watts via some mtx amp. his sound better though by a long shot.

Dont get me wrong, I liked how loud they were. They did their job VERY VERY well of getting loud, and I loved how they did that so well. But, just they sucked for daily driving - any more boom than about a 140 or so and you hear this prevalant BL distortion from the subs (and a ton of rattles. LOL)

The lower models from DD should be better as they wont be as overmotored as the 95/99 series, and a sub VERY worthy of looking at is the DD 9115 or 9112. That sucker should give the XXX and Brahma a run for the money and maybe if DD spent enough time on DUMAX it might rival the w7 on accuracy.

Right now in the SQ lanes JL's w7 is actually doing VERY well. Why? XBL^2 based technology.

Actually, only the Brahmas and XXXs have the XBL^2 technology...

why do you think I said 'based on?' That is to mean 'similar to.'

All 3 units have spent a lot of time in the Dumax machine....

I doubt you get 2400 out of that amp.
