adding amp and subs to factory 97SR5

Any good ideas? I already have two decent 12" subs and i'm taking my time building a nice box that conforms to the back cargo area. Plan on installing amp under front passenger. May also replace front door factory speakers later with something more powerful and would like to run it all off one amp. The subs are 800watts max so I figure a 4-channel amp that pushes 400watts steady may suffice and then could be configured/bridged to power fronts and the subs later. Could this be done with a 2-channel amp?

it can be done with the 4 ch setup not the 2ch set up. the 2 ch setup will only have one crossover and you wont be able to seperate the highs/mids to the doors and the low to the subs. you can do it with a good 4ch amp depending on what ohm load it can handle and what ohm load your subs are. the likeliness of getting an amp that can do that efficiently and still fit under your seat is most likely not going to happen.

thanks for the info. because of my current economic situation i've decided to drop to a mono amp and mount it on the box. farrr cheaper scenerio. also allows for easy removal for cargo space. any other mods will have to wait till i save for a complete system.

Not true I run a PHOENIX GOLD XS6600 6 channel under the passangers seat I did add a couple small fans to help cool it better but it fits just fine and runs 5.25 fronts 6.25 rear and 2 10" subs in cargo area very well.

it fits under the passenger seat without sticking out at all? is it a newer model? i am running a cadence 5 ch but it is really big and had to go in the cargo area behind the panel. i would love to be able to relocate an amp under the seats
