1999 4runnner stereo questions

About to pull my factory stereo and put in an aftermarket I've had sitting around as well as a CB. What I have been trying to find information on is if my 1999 4runner, with stereo cassette and CD player, if the 6 speaker system uses an external amp or not.

Also, just general information on the stock speaker wiring for the 6 speaker system, and any advice on changing the stereo and speakers from other owners experience.

there is an auxiliary amp behind and below the factory radio. buy a toyota harness connector for your aftermarket cd player and the install will be much easier.

Already ordered and on its way.

are the tweeters and mid ranges in the front doors wired together or separate to the head/amp?
