I just bought an 06 4runner and I want to replace the jbl sub that comes in the back, but when i tried to remove the panel in the trunk, i broke some plastic screw. I thought the panel would just pop off.
Anybody know a way to access that sub in the back without scratching up the plastic around the panel, or breaking anymore screws?

having pulled the plastic off my 2003, it doesn't seem to be that there is any way to pull it without popping off some of the connectors. the plasic is molded such that it pushes into the holes, but does not have clips, etc. for removal.

to note, the sub inside is not 8" either. i ordered a cheapo off amazon as it was noted to fit in a toyota avalon, but it's a tad smaller so it doesn't match up with the screw holes.

the sub also appears to have voice coils on it as there are TWO sets of leads that connect to it.
