Separate Tacoma / 4runner Section

I was thinking that the Tacomas and 4runners deserve their own section. I asked Corey what he thought and he suggested that I would write something up in this section. I thought it was a great idea....

Let me know what you guys / gals think..

The 4th gen Tacos and 3rd gen 4Runners share a lot of info so having them in one section kinda helps.

I'm just playing a little "devil's advocate". That said....

It would be nice to have a section for Tacos so it would be easier to keep track of Tacoma buildups and anything else that the doesn't apply to the 4Runner guys

the interiors are different and the rear suspension setup is different. that would be the only differences I can think of with my pea-sized brain today.

I think things are going to get so "categorized" that no one will have time to browse all of them and things are going to fall through the cracks.

Bingo.

I've helped many friends with their runners, and I don't want to take the time just to go through the 4-runner section to see if I can give advice.

Further, I think we should not only split the sections by Tacos and 4Runners, but years as well. I don't want 2001 4Runner tech mingling with my 2002 tech. Beyond that, I'd like to see the sections divided by color as well. Information that applies to my black 2002 is worlds apart from, say, a blue 4Runner.

Is that really necessary?

To avoid any ambiguity in my previous posts in this thread: Although I love seeing Tacomas on the forum and it would be convenient to have the Tacos in their own section, I agree that the two vehicles just share so much that it should be kept the way it is.

yeah i agree fully..i think the models should be seperated too.. the SR5 and the Limiteds are just wayyyy to different.
the more you divide the forums the less help you will get. if the vehicle is in the title then you know if you want to read the post hence the dislike for ambiguous thread titles.

I think we should make a section for each persons individual truck. That'll really help sort things out. .

They have more in common than differences, otherwise you'd have to divide year models as well, not worth the headache......

Well, at first I was all about a separate section for Tacos, but the more I've thought about it, I think I agree with Bruce. The similarities outweigh the differences, so although it would be fun for Tacomas to have their own section, I don't think it really justifies the hassle of separating everything. Just my 2c... (sorry Jonathan... )
