New Posts and unread posts option

When I press the New Posts button and start scrolling down I see this "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts." Then theres a list of 400 threads after that, page 1 of 20.

Is there a way to turn that option off? Those 400 threads after that message are threads that I probably won't read, and to me its just kinda clustering up my screen. If theres only 15 new threads since my last visit, I like seeing just 15 threads.

Maybe its just a matter of me getting used to this new option/feature. Seems to be alot of new things popping up, some I'm liking, others I'm feeling kinda clausterphobic with. Just seems each time I log in, things are moved around or something is new, or what was there, might be gone.

Overall, I still love this site, mods are doing a great job, I just feel the simpler the better.

We touched on this in another thread a bit.
It started happening after Cebby put the counter back to zero today when working on something else.

I do not care for the feature myself, and I have not had time to investigate it.
I prefer the old way of only seeing new posts since my last login.

I am sure we will get this worked out, just give us time to play with our brand new software.

I know things are being upgraded, and new things are being tried, so I hope I didn't step on anyone toes with this post.

there's an easy fix:

1. click on the forum index page
2. scroll down to the bottom of the page and locate "Mark Forums Read" link in the middle of the page before the list of names
3. click and all of the older threads will become read
4. should keep you clean and clear for awhile

good luck
