trailer building???

Any one here make a trailer out of a wrecked yota pickup? I have a 92 4runner and I want a trailer to haul my stuff that won't fit in the back. Any info or suggestions?

You could check into a military 1/4 ton trailer like I have. M416 trailer. I just did over 5,000 mile trip from CA to MN and all over CO with mine.

They are on ebay alot. Also you can get a pretty new canadian version for about a grand. I paid 300 for mine, but it needed/ needs work. They have great clearance and the pintle attachment rotates so they are great for off road.

I am going to fab one up out of the bed from my 83. I have visions of making it 1/4 ton military style. I plan on fabing up the axle either to be the same bolt pattern, or just use a toyota drum or something. I like the idea of having a couple extra spare tires around. I also can get from my buddy a multi connection hitch, it will be the normal ball mount on road, then change it up to pintle for off road.

False floor to store longer items, axles, high lift jack, ect.

just think i am going to make my own frame, dont really like the idea of using the truck frame.

anyone else have anything like this or any good ideas?

Sometimes you can find the frames for the 1/4 ton trailer. I don't remember what they are called but they were used to carry generators. They were a flat bed type but the same frame. Also, a lot of times you can get a trailer that the box is shot but the frame is still usually good.

Its all good. Me and my pops have built trailers before. He can get the materials for cost thru his work.

I have certian ideas i want to build into it.

Is your 1/4 mil an A frame tongue or an i beam type?

I am thinking i am going to hybrid mine

The last one we built was a 6x12 flat bed to haul motorcycles to Laguna Seca.
We are currently looking for some axles to do a toyhauler.

Thanks for the info though.
