Yep, this is a sick area...The BLM is working with local 4x4 groups to map and designate trails for OHV, ATV's, Mountain Bikes, etc. We will definately host a NM 4Runner Jamboree in the future.

SteveO's rig did awesome, the suspension is very soft and the 37" MTR's did kick arse.

This is definately something for me to work up to.

Its pretty amazing how much work goes into a Coil-over SAS. Hanging leaves is so much easier, but getting all the geometry correct so it will do 75 on the highway with no wobble, is a big task.

I'm blessed.

Yeah, I suppose so, I’m still impressed every time I go out wheeling with this thing.

My wife is excited about driving the beast as well. As you may or may not know, when it gets really tough, she does the driving, and enjoys it! In fact, I have video of when she was doing Yellow Belly in Martinez Canyon before Schaefer had the courage to do it. She's loving it.

Around 4k. I ended up getting a Miller welder to add to the cost as well. So, I'll have to add up the receipts, but somewhere around 4k....

Measurements, I can get them if you like. Well, actually, I should go ahead and get them and list them as well.

That's impressive considering coilovers and springs tend to run 1k.

 

Got two 14" travel shocks with double rate spacers for 500 bucks.

my guess is that he kept his eyes out on pirate or on ebay. however, i think i remember hearing it was pirate in this case. so many people rebuild so often over there that good deals are abundant.

 

LOL, indeed it was Pirate4x4. I was watching very, very closely for a deal....and I got one. They both were in good shape (except one had a broken schrader valve, easily replaced), and they are both working great.

 

Went to the alignment shop last Friday.
The Camber was dead on, perfect.
The Caster was off by 1*, pretty good considering I rotated the knuckles myself
The Toe in was off and reset.
The axle is straight, as well as the rear axle, everything is in excellent shape and aligned great.
My dad and I did a ghetto alignment before we headed out to Moab, and it worked pretty good, it drove straight. But, nothing beats getting it aligned by a Hunter with Lasers. I was exceptionaly happy that the alignment was so close after doing a major transformation, such as Coilovers.

 

That's cool news, Steve! Where did you take it? I would have liked to see the look on the technician's face when they saw it...

 

Hey Jason, long time no see or hear......


I took it to Alex Safety Lane in Santa Fe, located on Pacheco street. These guys are really cool. I hung out in the bay as he was doing the alignment to watch everything. Very nice group of guys, and they had some really cool high tech equipment.

We should get together for a run to the Tank Trap....I just put on some Rock lights, a digital volt meter to monitor the two batteries and fixed a suspension limiting issue......

Can you do anything to fix the caster?

After I installed my 3rd rear axle I got it aligned again, it's so nice to drive an aligned, tire balanced vehicle.

The 18th...hmmm?
