Ruf and Chevy 63s, need opinions

I have an 83 long box on 2" OME springs, no crossover steering and adding an om617 soon. I just got an amazing deal on a RUF and Chevy 63" spring swap kit, so I'm pulling the trigger on it. got a sky stage 2 with a 2" drop on the front spring mount, Chevy spring mount kit with missing links, shock hoops, brake lines. $200 brand new. Got 88' Chevy leafs this morning, 4 leaf with the overload. My question is whether or not I should pull a leaf out and I've read that some people are cutting half of the overload spring (behind the perch). I know they will ride softer without the fourth leaf, is it the bottom most one being removed? Any input on the overload situation would be greatly appreciated. Also please chime in if you run an OM617 on a RUF setup, how's it sit and ride?
