Roll cage?

So it finally happened, I rolled my junk. Luckily no one was hurt and the runner is totally salvageable but now the question is what roll cage or custom?

I don't have the ability to bend tubing but I do have a capable welder so I've been leaning towards a 4xinnovations cage.. and I honestly don't think I can beat it for the price?

What's your Guy's opinion? I have a couple of shops around me that would be capable of building a cage but I'm not sure I'd get the same of caging as the 4x innovations cage for the price Insights or ideas would be welcomed!

I plan on keep the b pillar because the hard top is perfectly fine but the a pillar is toast (mostly rust)

Just How did you manage to roll your 4Runner in a Yard ??

Might be a good time to buy a tube bender .

Nothing like a Roll cage after the fact.

Do you plan to remove all the glass now??

If you think the most cost effective is 4x go for it

Well the story goes, we were out off-roading and my slave cylinder went out so I had to start it in gear, we went down a dirt road while we were heading back to the house, decided to turn around (180) done it hundreds of times just misjudged the little lip and just how far unlevel it was and wamo lol

And yeah all the glass will be removed probably make half doors n such since the doors are bent too, we'll see how it goes I was just seeing if anybody had any better ideas before I pull the trigger..

.the only thing I can think of is if I could get it custom made I could make it a little taller and possibly go exo later on. but in my head just a simple 4 point cage is gonna take at least what 2-3 days Fab time and at shop minimum $75 an HR it's like 1,800 bucks

4x Innovations is a cost effective and safe way to go imo. I've seen their testing videos of trucks being rolled with their cages and I would buy one if needed.

Have you talked to any of your local fab shops ??

It would need to be people that have built cages before .

Most would have a bend and cut list and could knock one out pretty fast .

Then you get the whole mess of putting a cage in a already rolled vehicle some places might not touch the job on principal.

Get the 4X cage would most likely be your best choice.

Well the few shops that are around me are Jeep shops so they probably do more of adding to the stock cage than anything.

I'm getting the 4xinnovations cage next week (shipping is crazy!) Now I'm onto another burning question....can I drive a motor vehicle without a windshield? Anybody got some handy knowledge on the subject? I'll probably end up calling the DMV before too long

I venture each state is different .

You can drive a Tractor or Motorcycle without one .

Interesting to see what your DMV says

Well my friends got the best of me, I was able to bend it back to some sort of shape and toss some lexan in the hole, without windshield wipers I might add lol... contemplating a 2nd gen body swap...so I can have some sort of an interior and still have my built axles and better frame.... still debating this though.

Yoterr, how's the restoration coming along? My 2nd gen is in similar shape and I'm contemplating whether or not it's worth it to fix it up. Having trouble finding a 4cyl 5spd in my area to swap my parts into. So far I've managed to get the roof popped back up but the A pillars are off by about a half inch so getting a windshield in iwll be tricky. Is that just a piece of plastic you got for a windshield?? Any more progress pics?

Yeah she's running and driving, well wheeling...it's not my DD so it get to and from the trails just fine. I cut the door frames off and put lexan in the windshield hole and called it good. I'm still looking for a body donor lol...
