ok so this is my question....

i have been thinking with my friend...since he has a 1995 pick up and he also has to bikes....motorcycles....he needs the space for them...which also means having the rear gate open when taking them...is it possible to make a rear bumper with tire carrier...where the rear tire carrier is removable so the gate can go open...??

 

Anything is possible.

Why don't he just use the under bed tire carrier?

most bumpers with tire carriers already swing out to allow acess, the demello offroad custom bumper for the expeditions west truck is a great example.

but i like the idea of a tire carrier for the hitch and just remove it when he drives with the bikes...

since the problem its that he needs to have the gate open so the bikes fit....while driving
