Okay...

This is the WabFab Off-Road's Optima Battery tray holder. What you don't see are the J-Bolts and the battery (soon)

Mounted under the dash to minimilize the battery wires and provide a nice central place for all the electric. Easily access also. Really happy with the quality of this tray, made from 1/8 inch angle iron with the welds ground flat it sits level and sturdy. It better, cause it's gonna have to survive several rollovers and feel really confident that this tray is keeping my battery secure. Nice Job Brian. Very Tight.

Sub-Floor for the trunck where the fuel cell, powertank, toolbox, sit.

More in the morning...

Nice work Mark! Do you have a target date for having it ready?

PS
The battery box looks great there!

looks so awesome, great job. I especially like the central electronics location and brake bias adjuster (can we say fun on the street?)

That being said, I have one gripe (it's probably not my place, but I have to tell you anyways...). What's with the chain steering wheel? I think it would be a lot better looking and comfortable with you went with a Sparco, Momo, or something like that. You can get a quick-disconnect to make it easier to get in and out, and you won't have to wear leather gloves anytime you get in! Anyways, that's my only suggestion.

Thanks Will. It all depends on when Brian finishes the Diamond. If everything stays to plan...I'll be driving Exhibition in the W.E.Rock Columbus next weekend and that will officially start my-long-overdue-season. Just wasn't cutting corners on ANYTHING on this build. Especially with the level that my piers are building at. Desertoy has set the bar!

Thank you kindly and appreciate any and all constructive feedback. I do have a quick release on the wheel and usually drive with gloves anyway.

Personally, I love it and makes me chuckle.. If it doesn't work out, then there are plenty others to work with, but think it's gonna be sweet.

Thanks though, I like to hear opinions--intelligent ones

Ive gotta admit, it made me laugh when i saw it. Quick releases are from God, I swear, they really are awesome, good to hear you have one. My steering wheel is starting to show it's age and if I get agressive enough, I think a Momo steering wheel with quick release will be taking it's place...

Now that you mention you drive with gloves, it's probably safer with stuff like that, as you probably are in contact with some stuff that can slice your hands up pretty quick

It makes me laugh everytime I see it..can see it getting old though with alot of driving and will most likely pick something else to go with it. Just love the classic look. Timeless.

Momo makes some great stuff and if the quick releases are universal could be an option. This is a 3/4 solid shaft with Jeg's quick release and spherical bearing brackets.

Driving with gloves is a good idea anyways with your hands being sooo vulnerable all the time in really hard wheeling.

Swicth panel is in...this was a chore. Made 2 brackets/mounting systems last night and sent both to the scrap pile after 3 hours of work and started from scratch again and came up with this. I like it. Sturdy as hell, clean and effective. Most important, no need to bend the trans shifter to clear it now. My tolerance is about 1/2 inch when in first gear to the fuse box.

All the sub structure is done Yippee!!! So the next 2 nights will be paint and will have an update on Friday morning as the plumbing and wiring will be the weekends chore and with any luck can fire the motor on Sunday.

Keepin my fingers crossed.

I have new inspiration for my dash! 12voltguy did some awesome work on that piece for sure. How much did that little gem set you back? Now all you need is some pink fuzzy dice to hang on a rear view mirror...or somewhere I guess.
