I started a thead a few day ago when I finshed my 2 seated buggy, however I am working a 4 seater proto type, and am almost finished. Here it is:

 

still IFS? thats a lot of tubin' going on! it would be fun to pull up to a Stop light here in southlake with that (basically the beverly hills of Texas)

 

Looks better than the Iguana with the skins on....some nice fab work

 

I like it "naked" also, but where these are going, they need to have skins, but I will put a few together that have no skin, fenders and a top. I like to see all the tubing.

 

what is your "base" for this buggy?

I too am curious, the igauna looks just like a VW Bug, and this one looks like...a big VW Bug...

Is it a 22RE and a truck frame? Looks sweet!! YOu see a lot of the VW buggies.. IRS.. would be cool but i like the 4x4 better

 

This is a 1993 truck frame. Cheap and easy to find. 22RE 5 spd. But its goingto be light weight!

 

Nice work. I'd like to get to that point myself someday... my skills still have a way to go.

Curious as to the flat plate hanging off the bottom of your front hood loop. Is that how the hoop attaches to the frame? Seems like that hoop is the primary carrier for a lot of your tube work.

Also, any way to shorten up the back... or are you looking for some payload capacity? Seems like that rear hoop could really be tucked in a lot further and give you a better departure angle.

Will you be reinforcing the way this rear hoop attaches to the frame, or do you feel the plate is enough?

What is the bit hanging under the frame? Crossmember maybe?

Not trying to be over critical, just looking to learn.

Nice fab work! I was curious about how the back seat passengers get out. Also, how far south are these things going? (Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay?)

 

The bit under the frame is a airplane style door only on the drivers side, used like a ladder to get the people in and out of the rear.
The hoops are attached with a clip angle so the load is on top and the side. And the rear hoop on this clients trucks will hold a spare tire, That is why it stick out so far.
