Trailer is awsome!!


Were did you get this gauge at? Im trying to find a simple volt guage like this but cant seem to find one.

Looks like it's ready for a Moab trip in October!!

Thanks! I bought the gauge from Summit Racing, it was one of their own cheaper versions (I didn't want to spend over a $100 for an Autometer) and ran me around $30.00.

thanx. I looked pretty hard for one of those for under $100 also. I will give that one a try.
After all what good are batteries if you dont know how much juice is in them.

Hey Great trailer! I was wondering if you ever considered using a pintle hitch? you can get way more maneuverability out of it. Im sure you have a reason to not use one just a thought.

This trailer build is awesome. It makes me want to build one! Although my trailer would look like a 2 year old built it out of sticks, pine cones and a tub of play doh.

Thanks! Yes, there is a reason. I have two trailer couplers that are interchangeable; the first is my street coupler, it's easy to get on/off the truck and has chains. Second, is my off-road Max coupler that spins 360 degrees, there is no bind and it doesn't bang around like a pintle hitch.

Pintles are loud and clunky...dreaded whenever I had to pull a trailer in the army.

Oh man I'm barely on page 8 of this thread and I cant wait to read the next following pages. Gotta head out for the night but damn DIRTCO I am loving this idea you had of reusing a Toyota rear frame/gas tank. I was talking to rustED about making a camping trailer of my own for the future road trip that my girlfriend and I want to go on. rustED reffered me to your page and right now I am super glad he did because I think this is going to be the route I take if I can find a cummy Craigslist frame or buy it cheap at a junk yard. I am looking forward to reading the remaining 17 pages brotha.
