forward air probably 100 bucks. large items aren't that hard toget shipped. it just takes time. For hands down conveince, DHL ships pretty much anything and they will pick it up. at least running boards, sliders and 5 cases (40# boxes) of T-shirts

Will's bumper looks great! time for a new tennis ball Will
The TMJ looks cool on Mikeys rig. I really dig that model without the hoop.

You need a plasma cutter and a horizontal band saw man!

Next time you do something like that, look into getting it laser cut, you'd be surprised how cheap it really is!

Ha ha, the tennis ball is at least 10 years old! had it too long now to change it.

Went up last weekend, took some measurements so the process has begun! He has most of the metal already so now the process begins! Mike has a lot on his plate right now, and I'm not in any hurry so its not going to be the fastest build, and I have to make another trip up there to finalize everything when he gets a skeleton tacked together but I think mike has some interesting ideas and we are sticking to the K.I.S.S. theory... Our target price is about half what these other guys are paying for rear steel so stay tuned!

yeah, if you let Mike take his time on it, you will not be dissapointed.
i can say that the frame mounts that he came up with were a work of art! I almost didnt want to cover them with the bumper

WOW, I can't wait to see his version of the 3rd gen rear steal. I was supposed to be the lab rat, but the funds are just not there. Mike if you get some drawings of what you want the bumper to look like, shoot them over to me I would love to see what is in my future when the $$$ is there.

hey guys!

just finished checking out this thread, WOW! some killer fabbing there! just to throw some interest into the mix, im looking for a rear bumper w/tire carrier, gas can/hi lift and maybe shovel & axe capabilities for a 2nd gen. the requisite recovery points should be factored in also, outboard as mike did on his. the 2" receiver would be nice but not necessary. this is not any kind of rush so this can be a back burner item.

redplastic, as for the shipping, what kind of $$ would i be looking at for north of the 49th? if its too prohibitive, maybe a nice vacation would be in order!

thanks for any and all input or suggestions.

lee

There will be updates this weekend as we will be finalizing the 3rd gen bumper so he can get that jig made and once we have the 3rd gen taken care of maybe he will want to do a 2nd gen. He is shooting for $500-$550 for the 3rd gen bumper, w/o tire carrier. That will have to come later.

Lee what I did when I fabbed something up for someone over the border was to ship to either someone they knew close to the border in the US or to someone we made arrangements with from the message board that was close. I shipped it to them and they would install it at the house than drive back across the border, saves on the Canadian duty as well.

Got things started tacking everything up today, here are a few pics Tomorrow we start early on the wings. We originally were going to put the brackets on the inside of the truck, but since he is going to be making more than one of these and he wants to be able to ship them out, we decided it would be better to stay on the outside due to the bolts that are welded inside the frame.

I'm confused...

You are selling the rig but spending $$$ on a new rear bumper?

Is that right?
