Just Dreaming... Take A Look

Do any of you experienced fabricators know if you can make some door inserts for a mid 80s p/u or 4runner? I keep seeing these for broncos...
and I want them for my turck!
Tell me if you think its possible, how to do it, if you think it would look cool, whatever. I know the bronco one is fiberglass. I thought if I were going to ever try to do this it would be metal, but... please post your thoughts.

Most people find an extra set of doors at a junkyard and cut them into half-doors, here's a link to a thread on Pirate4x4 with just pics of 80's yota half-doors.

Also keep your eyes on the Pirate classifieds, from time-to-time people will sell a nice set of these or a a halfway finished set for really cheap.

You can also modify the factory hinges so the doors will lift right off without tools making the swap super easy.
Link here and scroll down to "Doors/Half Doors"

I've got a set of AOR tube doors or I go w/ no doors at all when rock crawling.

It looks cool- but unless you're goin' REAL slow, the dust gets sucked into the cab to the point I wear my old motocross goggles. It's the only way I can see after a mile or two. The interior of my rig will never be the same...

Half doors "should" eliminate the worst of the problem by covering the lower portion of the door. I'm gonna be building a set of 3/4 doors this winter- barring any other required projects creeping up. They should still provide good visability, and with some velcro attached poly windows, should provide some weather protection too.

Perhaps some of the cleanest 1/2 doors I've seen were built by Steve Girt (SGirt). You might e-mail him to see if he still has any pics of his- I can't find'm anymore...

For me it would be a very easy mod, to fabricate doors very similar to that photo, but personally I wouldn't do it to my rig, for the very reason posted by
crawler#976, the dust is killer here in Socal......

I'd modify a stock set of doors, then get them Line-X.
