Jerry can holder on rear door?

I have been thinking of mounting a vertical can holder like this one

to the rear door on my 2002 4runner. Anybody try something like this before? I wouldnt leave the can in there all the time or full of fuel all the time, only when I am camping or offroading.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

How would you mount it to the liftgate. I would think that going offroad with it full might just tear out of the sheetmetal. Maybe figure a way to mount it to the bumper and have it swing away from the truck

I was thinking of putting a 1/4 steel backing plate behind the sheet metal inside the door skin, then maybe another on the outside. I think the straps would hold the can in place and allow the bumper to take the weight.
Just thinking about it right now.
