thats the problem...

What good is a truck if I can't romp on it? The second I get it in deep san/mud that thing is going to come apart...

I think I need something stronger.

Its up there...

I would just like to find something that I can fit without having to do a body lift or doing transmission tunnel modifications.

If I can't find anything that I can get away with without having to do those modifications then I'll go with the NV4500.

Got ya. You think you could fit a L/C tranny without a body lift? Well, you need an overdrive so that prolly wouldn't work.

5spd

Well, there is that 5SPD that came in foreign land cruisers. Maybe that would work. I actually hadn't thought about that.

4 cly manual T-5 has a different size input shaft. it will fit and work but its not a clean fit in there and will screw up things. its also not as strong (duh) and has a higher gear ratios. the WC t-5 is a good tranny its downfalls are from too much power, banging the gears (especially power shifting) D&D transmissions in wixom, mi are the folks to talk to. you can rebuild t-5 to handle your power, its already rated at around 260hp 320tq

you could always throw a C4 in there, they are plentiful and tougher than crap. but its an automatic.
