im building a a crossover steering for my 85 yota....i have a 2wd toyota steering box....will this work or does it have to be a 4x4 ifs box?

86-88 steering boxes are the best i used a 86. there internals on the different years are exactly the same but the 86-88 outer case it more sleeker and better looking.

No, it will NOT work.

You need a 4x4 IFS box.

For crossover steering on 79-85 trucks we recommend the early style box, 86-88, but you can also use the late style if you wish. Fits fits 86-88 Pickup and 86-89 4Runners.

Late style box fits 89-95 Pickup and 90-95 4Runners.
