Background: I am transplanting a '92 Previa 5 spd manual transmission and '87 van 4x4 transfer case into a '94 Previa that had auto trans. I have both Previa vans, the '92 is being decommissioned as donor and parts van.

Problem: Can't remove the front clutch hydraulic line from master cylinder to the clutch accumulator without cutting it, so I'll need to create a repair joint where it is cut to re-install in the "new" van.

The line uses 12mm (wrench size) flare fittings. I am not finding info on what the correct flare is for this line. I'll need to source a flaring tool and repair coupling.

Anyone know what line size, flare angle and fitting size is correct for this tube??

Just save the nut and get a metric double flaring tool.

The clutch line on my pickup had fittings that needed a 10 mm flare nut wrench. It's sometimes hard to find metric tubing so I used 3/16" SAE tubing (Almost exact same size as the metric line) and used my Toyota metric nut.

I have even salvaged tubing from my donor and straightened it out in a smooth jawed vice and re bent as needed. Did this with brake lines and clutch lines with zero problems.

A double flaring tool is all you need. Use the fittings you have.

Yes, I know I need to use a flaring tool. What I need to know is what size. I a not finding thsi info from internet searches.

This clutch line is larger diameter and uses 12mm (wrench size) fittings. It is not close to the smaller diameter 10mm fittings used for the brake lines.

There are no fittings to reuse. The fittings on the ends will have to connect the ends to the clutch master cylinder and accumulator as original.

I have to cut the line in the middle to remove and then re-couple at that place to re-install. It needs a new repair coupling or some sort.

Sorry, I thought you could maybe use the fittings you have and just replace or make the entire line. No splice needed.

Quick follow up: I cut the line out and took it to Carquest. The line is either 1/4" or metric equivalent to 1/4", I'll rejoin it in place with SAE 1/4" flare fittings.
