Bumper building strength question
#21
got everything cut, trimmed and mocked up.. need to clean the pieces and bit more and prep the metal for welding tomorrow. I need to get some 1/4 scrap to box the ends of the c channel. I left a half inch gap between the tailgate being down and the top of the "bumper"
here are the pretty much done mounts.. I may trim off more excess, but most likely not. I had everything off and it was too late to re bolt it just for pics.

Awesome that you posted this, OP. I've a piece of 1/4" 3"x6" C channel that I've been planning on using as a rear bumper and I think you just solved my problem of how to mount it up.

Im actually in the process of doing the same thing. I think i used 6''x2'' thou, Maybe 8''x2''?
Here is a bad picture,

i didnt want to cut my roll pan, Kinda wierd about that stuff. Would of made it stronger thou..... And im not completly done btw.

and here is its painted and mounted. I think I want to trim down the shackle mounts.. they seem a bit large to me. I also need to do another coat or 2 of paint but at least it wont be rusted after the first rain atm
