Aluminum Tow Hitch

So here is what i was thinking:

Trying to save weight is important for both reliability and a daily driver.....so

I currently making ""a-NUTHER"" gas tank but this time i am giving it a shot with 1/8 alum sheet

Anyways--i was going to build an aluminum bumper with tow hitch included. but i started looking under there and decided to leave the old bumper--trim a bit and add in raised tow hitch (C-Channel slid into the frame and bolted in OE spots). This hitch will also tie into an intergrated rear skid frame covered in UHMW--which also acts as the gas tank skid/protection

Thinking:

OEM Hitch is 3/16 steel with (~58K-70K PSI tensile & 50K Shear) Weight--about 50 lbs

But if you wanted to build a slightly tougher yet LIGHTER one--What would you use?

6061-T6 Alum?
Chromo Tube?
Bolted 7075-T6?

Other?

TC--are you there

Amen to that!
