I was looking at the bumper, and I dont think you would want one of those for a runner. the reason it works on the taco is because the tailgate is higher than the quarters. The runners are opposite. If you took that design and put it on a runner it would stick out 8in. and hang down another 8in. In order to get it to fit well on the runner you would have to change it alot and the way I see it after you make all the mods it going to look like an allpro.

yeah, your right--I can see that now by comparing the bumper to the all-pro one.

That allpro bumper would take a day max to make. and if you weld instead of bolt you could do it in half a day.

I have looked and talked to people. I am planning on spending at most $350.00 for a bumper. I dont really like the Allpro one because of how it bolts to the mounts that then bolt to the frame=too many bolts.

I am looking into a few local fab shops here.

Marlin Crawler has a pretty nice one also. I haven't seen pictures of it on a 4Runner though. It is $499 for the 4runner model. Might check into that one.

Many have asked in differant threads about bumper pics,

I found many pics by going a "Image" search on Google.

Some key words:
custom bumbers
Jeep Bumpers
toyota bumpers

etc.......

So I talked to a well known fabricator here in SD and he is going to build me the bumper I want. It will be like the Badland Bumper, only it will not have a hitch built into it so I can keep my spare under the truck. It will have 2 tow shackles welded to it so I still have good recovery points.

It will be like this with a MarcP twist-

I hope your paying less than $500 because the Marlin Crawler one has a unique receiver design that does not interfere with stock spare tire location and the bumper is provided with two D Ring mounts (shackle mounts). This is my favorite so far.

Check it out...

Nice! Who made it?

I see you opted for teh tow hitch instead of the shackles.

A company here in San Diego called Weldtech Designs made it with pics and ideas I had. After talking with people that described shackles as "cowbells" I opted for a hitch mounted reciever shackle. I can always add more later if needed.

I hope theres some lateral bracing in that thing, I learned the hard way so did my quarters, escpecialy if you have kick outs on your sliders.

Big lateral bracing--I guess I need to take more pics so you can see how stout it is.

I like the way that the marlin bumpers tow hitch is incorporated. As much clearance as possible and still has alot of bracing.
