How do you know when you a u-joint that is starting to go bad? Does it make a specific sound or is there a specific feel? I had a whooping noise that has now change tone/pitch and it's more noticable underbreaking?

How hard is it to replace a u-joint? Never done it.

 

grab the drive shaft, try and wiggle it. You could also jack up the truck and spin the wheels, listen for any funky noises.


Installing a u-joint is not that tough. A vice is nice to have
