Sunday 5/25

A YT member Djlarroc is going to be in town that w/e. We have struck up a pretty good PM friendship here on the board, so we plan to meet up. I'd like to wheel a bit on Sunday and wouldn't mind another rig tagging along just for fun and safety. Probably going to keep it short and sweet since it's so hot all of a sudden. I think maybe Sunflower since it isn't too far or too long and at least a little higher than the valley. Hesitate to do Log corral as I don't know it so... any interest or other ideas?

This weekend calls for much cooler temps and a good chance of rain in the high country. It should be a nice weekend for wheeling, especially up near Sunflower.

Hmmmm - getting sliders welded on Saturday. Might be nice to go scratch them up on something on Sunday!

Thanks Mike for putting this together!

And thanks to those who come along. I hope to be able to meet some of the AZ crew.

You all might run into some guys from TTORA. They were talking about running up that way this weekend.

Good deal. Post here or PM me if you really want to go.

I don't mind being an early bird even though as a group we have usually started out around 9am. I'd go as early as 7am but would leave it negotiable if need be for others to attend. As far as short, I'd try to rip through it without too much dinking around just to get done before the worst heat. With a small group we could get through pretty quickly. I don't know Rinky, but I know Duncan and I can hit it pretty good. Are you thinking of joining us for an after work diversion?

Something to consider about going early is that we would be out there before TTORA clogs up the trail if T is correct.

Rinky, if you haven't been out there, it's not unreasonably rough but a little caution is in order.

Looks like they are going to be running Sunflower but it's going to be Saturday. So you all will be safe and have a good time.

Well... I was half thinking I could sneak out there with you guys before work, but I don't really think that would be possible.

I start at 2:30 and I will have worked the night before until 1:00 so I would be pushing it to even wake up in time... let alone finish the run before work.

Sometimes I don't think through my posts all the way.

Thats ok Steve, think of it like a sleep deprivation experiment.

Have fun - I'm heading to Austin friday so I'll catch up with you all soon.

It would have been nice if I could make it - but with already taking half a day on Sat to get the sliders welded, I'm taking valuable time out of my Patio building weekend. I have a 450 sq/ft patio to install in 3 days (Well 2½). The pavers etc. being delivered on Friday AM.

I'll make it out with some of you guys one of these days tho.

Understood.

C'mon guys, don't make me call my Jeep buddy.
Duncan, PM sent.

I will be in Lake Havasu otherwise I'd join. Have fun out there...Sunday will be a great day and the creek should be flowing very well!

Be watchful of the runoff by Sunday. The high country is expecting a strong winter storm this weekend...lots of precipitation. White Mtns expect 12-18" snow in the higher reaches.

OK. Thanks everyone. Looks like a busy w/e for everbody. Talked to my jeep friend and we decided to go out to the Florence area instead. Probably run Elvis/Box and maybe a run out to the cabins time permitting. Duncan? Still interested? Give me a shout.

Let me set this up with my roommate. We have been prepping his Rover for our trans-Nevada expedition in June, and he wants to do a shake down run.

We need to find a good rock to set his new back bumper on, see if Steve's welds actually hold

You're right, if it's Florence I'm in for a double run weekend. Let me know time and place, as I'll be coming out of Maricopa and I'll probably have two others following me there. ( another 4Runner and a jeep)

LET'S DO IT
