El Golfo 200
Not toyota related so I thought I'd just post it down here, but we had a good race!
The other 1600 car and us had a great race! We were evenly matched. He out drag raced us at the start and we stayed in his dust for several miles. That made for some exciting driving as we were flying blind!
In the rough stuff our Yokahama's are so boyant that we seemed to have a couple MPH's on him and caught back up and passed. It was the slowest pass of all time!! I think we were staring at each other waiting for the pass to be over!
We kept the lead for a while and then next thing we know he is on our tail. On a dirt road section he had about a half MPH on us and once again the longest pass of all time took place. We waived to each other and gave the thumbs up this time as we flew along at about 78MPH.
Good racing and I'm glad that we both decided to keep it clean and not get nasty.
He pulled off to the side after one turn and we went by. Car looked okay. No fire/smoke/flat tire, but we never saw him again after that.
Finished the last lap and a half with third and fourth only.
Good times!
BIG THANKS to Herder, Melton and Mr. Dakar Ron bailey. The all passed us nice and clean. With the speed they were going I know that must have been tough for them, so thanks! much appreciated!
Herder and Joe's average speed was 83MPH!!! (I know it was in the low eighties, I can't remember exactly) Thats one fast course!! (good to see you again Joe and that your doing so well. long time!)
Thanks Dan Winter and all the others!! Junior, Poolmang!
Now where is Tim G with the contingency cert so I can go and buy a new helmet that does not give me a bruise everytime we race!!

Ohh thats a sharp looking machine!

Just after the race! My camera survived another race in my pocket!

MMM Cougars and Tecate girls!

And last, but not least if you know what I'm talking about. Thank YOU Tomcar girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And thank plastic surgery...

Dec 8th is the next race. Its in Rocky Point.
There can never be enough help and its ALWAYS an adventure. When I'm an old man all my crazy stories will have something to do with one of these races.
