Maybe it's time for a FREE COOTEES campaign?

He was very helpful when I needed to find some replacement rubber grommets. It's hard to believe that he's just ignoring everyone.

I also filed a complaint through PayPal, we'll see what happens there.

I bought something else from cootees, but I too am waiting for it. I also filed a paypal complaint but it only stays open for 20 days, and around the 16th day or so he replied saying he had some personal issues but that he would send the item out to me. I felt sorry for the guy so I chose not to escalate the claim with paypal, and I let it go. I may have been suckered, but oh well. If what he said was true, I couldn't find it in myself to create more problems. I'm not saying that what some of you are doing is wrong, just stating my current situation.

I really don't see what they can/should do since they aren't responsible for the transactions that take place here. It's at our own risk.

If anyone gets anywhere with this let me know. I'm still hoping...

Thanks.

Orb, I was curious what you had bought? Also was curious where your location is? It sounds as if you want people to stop looking for poor old cootes. There was another guy on the forum here who knows him and was going to call him on the cell. I think he may be the best bet as far as info on the guy. The guy who knows him was also posting in this thread. If he had some personal issues - why not just come clean or refund the money, sending refunds on paypal is extremely easy. The whole situation is very fishy and stinks. These guys are out 85 bucks a pop, that is not chump change and I believe they have every right to pursue this in whatever fashion they see fit. Mods may not be able to help but it is good for them to be aware of this kind of activity on the site. That is all just my opinion and I have that right just like you.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

Like I said, I'm just stating my situation and frame of thought. By all means find a way to contact him, it has been frustrating for me as well. I agree that the situation stinks and that he could have contacted us with a reason for the delays. I also agree that the mods should be aware of the situation, but that there's nothing we should expect from them. I have nothing against your opinion, I just wanted to clarify my own. BTW, I bought a set of aisin hubs from him for about $110.

Thanks.

COOTEES at performance-curve. (sent to the corporation).

To whom it may concern at Performance-Curve Corporation, Roanoke VA
I am in the course of an investigation which has been reported to Paypal and which I am in the process of escalating.
I and several other individuals have sent monies to an individual who goes under the handle of "cootees" on several off-roading
forums. His first name is Philip.
I personally sent him $75 for an automotive part which he manufactured called an ISR mod for a Toyota 4runner. This was sent in June, almost three months ago. I have full documentation attesting to this fact. He has since disappeared from the forums and is unreachable by any other means.
I have reason to believe that he is affiliated with your company and request that you contact him in order that he resolve this dispute.
If this escalates past Paypal, I will continue to escalate this to the appropriate authorities in Roanoke, VA, as well as in the States where we reside. The fact that he accepted our payments and has since disappeared without trace or contact constitutes Internet fraud and can be persecuted as such.
www.ic3.gov
While these charges are possible, we are willing to settle this through the simple shipment of what he promised. If shipment is complete, then the issue will be closed. I am not asking for additional recompense, simply delivery of what I (and at least 2 others) paid for.

As I have several postings linking your company to this individual, I request that you contact him on our behalf, or give us information leading to his whereabouts.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter which has escalated out of hand, and which we hope to resolve in the most propitious manner possible.
Yours truly,
T

Taikozawa is the man, Your 100% in the right too. I hope you get the mod, he obviously knows how to make them and I am sure it won't take him that long to rectify this. Heck if he comes through I would probably still buy one since it looks like he is the only guy who makes them.

I will talk to him about these matters and see what is up. if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by Private message.

Chris

I too have delt with Cootees. Bought a ISR several months ago. Received it several weeks after payment. No problems with him or his product. THe only problems I had were with UPS trying to tell me my address did not exist.
Cootees even contacted UPS himself to try and fix the error.
Hope you guys get things straightened out. Good luck!

I have made this part before for the 3.0 and have thought about making it again. I will do so if there are some interest in this. I have no part or connection with Cootees or the company mentioned above. I am just offering a part for those who are interested. Pm me with any questions.

I am feeling kinda like a want one but would like to purchase the unit at a set price thru ebay, that way both buyer and seller are protected. This whole cootes thing has left a bad taste in my mouth and fishy smell around here. Hope you understand where I am coming from and take no offense because I really need one of these!!

I do hope everyone will be cooperative with philip as he is a good friend of mine, but i can also see how you guys have been very cooperative already. If anyone else has any concerns please contact me... thanks guys

I really want to purchase the pipe but the whole cootes customer service is making me want to do it myself. It would just be so much easier to buy one through him though. Im not going to waste my money, but i would surely buy one to see that all the rest of the customers have been taken care of properly. Tim

Why can't Cootes just sign into the forums and answer the questions himself?

It would certainly redeem him if he spoke directly instead of all these spokesman.

Am I the only one thinking along these lines?

Taikozawa - What did you find out? Any updates.

This whole thing is plain weird to me
