Uwharrie, ONE MORE TIME
#1
Hey guys, I thought I should start another thread about a 2nd Uwharrie run, that last thread was getting a little too big.
Okay so how about a run out there on the first weekend in September, September 5th, 6th, 7th. How does that look for everyone. Let me know soon I need to get a request into work soon if I can even think about it. I know everyone including myself would much rather do it on a week day but that just can't happen with school for the majority of us.
So lets hear it???

Hey that sounds good to me, I'm sure I won't have any trouble convincing my brother (custom cruiser) to run his Runner. NCSU, damn communications, I still feel bad that you missed us. Count on my bro and I cause that gives me just enough time to install my spacers so my wheels will fit this time.

Sweeeet guys, I'll go put in for the time today.
NCSU do you know if Minidisc will be able to make it time time too, I'm pretty sure I won't have my front axel fixed(kinda strapped for time and $$) by then, so the more trucks the better. But I will try to do my best on fixing that axel and CV boot, it'll be a first for me. Wish me luck.
I need an opinion from you guys b4 I go jumping into that project though, do you think that I would be able to follow at all with stock tires, or should I just not even wory about it. I have faith in the e-locker but I don't know if that would be enough to overcome the tire shortage.
EIT Hyperlite, I have a question for ya. Can you tell us exactly what your set-up is, I'm talking all your little off-road and performance mods. I know you have a awsome set-up I just want to know how you run 305s and what else you have backing that up. Thanks, I'm just really surious about others rigs.

MAN, I wish I could go with you guys!! I want to meet all of you. I would change my plans to go town the savannah, but my mom already has a hotel room. You will make it out of the park no problem. Jon "hyperlite" has a winch and Matt "customcrusier" has a big tow strap and shackles, so you will get through. Just in some spots it might be harder than if you had tires. Why not take the rockcrawlers off your old truck just for the run?
Jon's other mods include (that I can remember)
33" BFG MTs on rockcrawlers
elocker
TJM T17 with hellas and a 8k lb winch
OME Lift (soon to have spacers in the front to deal with the extra weight of the tjm/winch)
Light bar with like 8 smallish lights on the roof
MTX sub (can't remember what headunit he had, matt had an alpine...)
ARB Snorkel
There is a start, jon will finish the list

ohh, you can always get out if youve got people there with recovery gear, but i just hate getting stuck. . . but hey, getting stuck can be fun sometimes too. i love the mud, id rather do the dirty wet stuff than rocks anyday.

Sweet, more people, now all I hae to do is alot of praying that nothing pops up at the last minute again.
Turbo, I can't run my AT's from my other truck because they are 15" wheel and they won't fit on a Runner that came with 16s, it SUCKS.

I am looking forward to this trip. I think you should try it w/ stock tires cause with a spotter and some time you will be able to make it anywhere. I ran 95% of the time in 2wd and half of that was with my locker off. This forum is about going out and enjoying your vehicles and the 4 wheeling experience I say try it, but only if you feel comfortable. Let me know if you have any probs or need help with the CV or Drive axle. Hopefully we can have better communication so no one gets left behind.

Oh yea, I bought Newfeilds from CV unlimited these bad boys are designed for rock crawling and anything for extreem angles. I would recomend this if you want a bullet proof setup w/o a solid axle of course you need $500

also NCSU, the trails are not like the one in your pic. thats what i am use to also. lots of mud.
stump i think stock tires are ok. there was mud but not mud like i am use to. it was slick but not thick and soupy, more water so it was more like mud water
if i didnt get new tires i would have run on my old stockers

Mr. T pity's the fool who gets involved with one of those women.I'll do my best to make the run with yall. Hopefully I can diagnose the clunking sound while in 4wd before then, but if not Ill probably still go and hope nothing breaks.

Power braking with a locker on in 2wd should do the trick
