You can probably find a used HKS F-CON or a Greddy Rebic on Ebay for around $200. I doubt you'll find any of the newer HKS or Greddy stuff... definitely not any of the Apexi stuff... I'd highly doubt it anyway. Both of the aforementioned units are fuel controllers. Just my .02

I haven't had any problems with my S/C in over 30,000 miles. I even ran the thing with the deckplate open for a while and it ran perfect.

Since it is hard to keep up with all the discussion on the matter I'm wondering if you need:

1. Fuel injectors cleaned (try Chevron w/Techron)
2. New fuel filter
3. Timing checked

Have you tried all these? If it is running lean, aren't these the places to start?

Supposedly, the stock fuel pump is up to the task. I'm wondering if yours is worn out.

Wish I could be more helpful - good luck.

Out of the 3 you listed... the Greddy e-manage has the most capability. It's pretty close to a stand-alone engine management unit. If you can afford it, I'd get that one.Probably overkill for your application, but it leaves you LOTS of head room.

The other two weren't bad, but not as complete OR cool.

I just like the HKS because I can find it new on alot of sites for around $240. I just wanted to make sure that this is the type of item im looking for. Will it read off my existing MAF or do I have to buy something else, anything else, for it to work on my ride. I want to be able to buy this single unit and install it without having to buy anything else.
Im getting excited to add another gadget to my runner.

Speaking of gadgets, Gadget said on his website that alot of people dont like the HKS AFR and that he only knows of one person that got it successfully tuned. I think the reason for this is just that they weren't sure how to set it correctly. Maybe if im down in raliegh sometime visiting a friend you could help me tune it right if it doesnt take too long.

4Runners in disguise, I can't wait. . You and Sam will have the fastest Runners around, and Jason would be fast as hell if his rig didn't way more than 10K lbs. Can't wait guys, gota get um ready for April.

So i should buy the unit, install it, then wait to mess with it until we can get a dyno to run on? How much will the dyno runs cost? Thanks for all the help man!

Don't install it until you can do the dyno runs... Its going to run like poo until you can tune it correctly.

Ahem... it's a 4.5l I-6.

I just put a cheapy Flowmaster on it, and now it sounds like a Supra w/ an exhaust... figures... it's an inline 6 and so is the Supra. Doesn't have the growl of the 3.4 in the 4Runner w/ the 40 series Delta Flow.

But Stump's right... 8k+ doesn't make for a fast rig.

But then again, nothing over 4k is REAL fast, esp. if you put 33's or larger on it.

or if he had a V8 and a S/C
You know anybody w/ a spare I-Force V8, a TRD S/C for it, lots of free $$$ and some spare time? If so, I'm up for it!

Hmmm... What do you think? :pat:

Seriously... leave it out until we can dyno tune it or it's gonna run like crap. Just be light on the throttle until then. RESIST THE URGE.

what about this instead

"6 blue top injectors from an NA supra. These have the air injection holes. The set that I'm running now tested at 316cc per minute so they're great if you're SC'd and doing fuel mods. These clip right into the stock injector clips and fuel rail without and splicing.

$225 shipped via USPS "

or would these not do me any good with out a pump that can give them the fuel and a computer that tells the pump to do it i.e. the HKS
