Looks good Dajabr. WA is up to about 20 members, but we don't have a website yet. Will be having our first meeting on Wed., so I'm hoping someone jumps in to help us with it.

high pricing for domain registration... free hosting... worth it... I accidentally stumbled on snooping around a night club website...

Logo/Theme feedback?

So there are two logos on the site at the moment, the top is the old one. As long as I start using some yellow to match the new "Virginia" it should work out with the new logo. But let it be known that if there's any purples or blues thrown in it will look like star trek.

So... what do you think?

Added one Anita's picture to the top of the members area, I may cut out and drop in the trucks from the other pic, and put them next to the owners bio.

I think it works too, while the night vision theme was coming along very well, it is necessarily limited in color range. Once I got used to the idea of some brightness I figured out a good way to slide some yellow in. Should work out well later as I update the other pages...

This is just too much fun, I just messed with this site, did graphics, and jammed all the crazy code I've been dying to try out, and it STILL looks good. For a really limited color scheme, this is turning out to be a slick arrangement. Instead of star trek it's looking more like the redskins, but not too bad....

Can you believe my photo CD is still screwed up. I took it back and those mental morons at whatever company couldn't tell the wrong photos were scanned on the CD. I provided the negatives of my truck along with the CD proof sheet. They returned the CD with a notice requested more instructions on what is wrong with the disk. I couldn't believe it. How difficult is it to compare the pictures on the CD to the negatives?

My search for a digital camera will begin this weekend. Whenever I do get the correct disk, I'll forward pic for the website.

Posted Calendar

Hey all, just made a new attenpt at the calendar, with all of the suggested events on it. Hopefully this might make it easier to schedule events and get more people together...

Definitly gimme any feedback or suggestions for the site.

A calendar of events is definately a plus to have. I wonder if we can get Chris to write up a short trail report with some pics he and John did a few weeks ago for the website as well.

I'll try to remember to do that. In the meantime, feel free to grab the pics from http://home.mindspring.com/~mtnbkr/July19_4x4/

It's rough, but here is my report. I padded it with some background info about the trail. I didn't use all of my pics, just the more interesting ones. Feel free to put a copy into the VA4ROC page and edit it as necessary. The links to images are hard links to my Earthlink storage space. I won't remove the pics, so you can leave the links as is and not bother with copying the images.

Calendar

I took the calendar off navigation, found that generating it through MSOutlook made it near impossible to match the theme, and the frames made a million pop ups. I'm going to see about generating one With MSProject after I rebuild my laptop...

What about getting a domain name? I think yotatech's steam for a national deal is petered out, maybe we can just make our own and have them link to us...

So anyway, have determined the best way to
1. strip out the MSFrontpage stuff, and am about to do that page by page, will leave the site looking very boring, but all content will be intact.
2. Then I have to recreate the "Theme" used by Frontpage as a cascading style sheet, which I havn't done before, though I should have a handle on it soon.
3. Finally I have to drop the new navigation on each page and confirm all the code works.

I'd like to have all of this done by the end of next week, but have various other junk going online as it is completyed. Ayway, keep an eye out, we should have the site back soon.

Skipped the style sheet, wanted to get content back up. So we're running. Check out the DHTML navigation on the left...

Dan,
You've done a really nice job with designing the webpage.

Thanks, it's fun to do stuff I couldn't do with FP. Just made "placeholders" for those members who have not yet sent me pics of their trucks. Hopefully will motivate then to do so. Good to be the webmaster...
