Hi all was hoping to have some help or guidance with my 86 toyota 4runner 22re, when i start it sometimes the rpms fluctuate dropping bellow 500 rpms and back up sputtering like its trying to die, which sometimes it does if i don't give it a little gas, so when it starts and begins puttering with a rough idle the check engine light will come one then once i rev it up it will turn off and run fine ( this problem only happens at low stationary idle) when scanning the code with trusty paperclip i get 3 flashes this points to ecu, wiring, or igniter, which i know the ignition coil if i have the name right "sits up on driver side fender next to where my paper clip plugs in for diagnostics has been replaced, unsure if this part includes a new igniter. " i may have name of part replaced wrong, correct me if so." also if it means anything when i try to time the rig i cant get it set steady at 5 deg tdc, it fluctuates 2-3 deg plus or minus 5 tdc. any advice would be appreciated sorry if my terminology isn't totally correct. i replaced TPS as well helped with my power problem but did not help with this problem.
