knock knock

Anybody home? I'm starting to get itchy to try one of these group ride things... no mods yet, but they're coming.

Craw4x4 wants to set up a trip to Paragon on the 31st of this month if your up for it.
We will be doing stock trials most likely, high greens, maybe blue 1s.

I was there on the 13th of Jan with my Rig and I did just as good or even better than 2 lifted jeeps (granted the drivers weren't so hot, and thats why I was the only on to drive my Tess)

Oh hell yeah I'm down for that!

I just got the truck inspected (bought in NJ) and my rear tires are a little low. they're also the ?…?…?…?…-stock wrangler RT/S. They'll get switched out for kuhmo MTs once I get the lift on.

Damn PA weather and lack of garage.

I'll keep monitoring this thread. If we go, I'll probably have company (copilot.)

If the weather isn't complete crap tommorow I'll be crawling under her and taking off these god forsaken running boards.

Nice Tire Selection.
Yeah mine came with Rugged Trails.
Worst tire I have ever driven on.

X2 on the weather.
Complete ice here.
Getting up the hill was fun.
4WD and sideways all the way.....

YES! Get rid of the running boards!
I did and damn am I happy.

What lift are you going to do?
I have a 2" body lift going on by the end of spring, and hope to have a 3" Suspension lift with 33s or 35s by the end of the summer.

Probably doing either 1.5" or 2" body lift with more coming (2.5") in suspension later. Ignore what's in my sig now... the OME stuff is starting to bug me. It'd be pretty cool if you had shop space to do both lifts in one shot. I'll bring the beer!

As for running 33s or bigger, I'm actually kinda hesistant to do it as I have no idea what kind of impact it's gonna have on my mileage... and I don't want to go apeÅÅÅÅ since this is still my daily driver.

I am doing the body lift in the driveway of with my friend in Jersey,
CJM,
check him out,
cool guy,
Drives a T100

And then I am sure the same thing with the suspension.

You need bigger tires eventually to compensate for the hight difference.
I am doing 33s because I believe that will be big enough,
35s once I get the money for gears and front an rear lockers.
So I can save some of my gas mileage,
granted later in life once I can get my hands on a dead Engine and tranny,
I plan on rebuilding them and making them ready to add a Supercharger, and then when I have access to a shop, throw them in

I need to edit my sig page because plans have changed slightly.
I would like to become sort of a rescue EMT and us my own vehicle for it.

Dude.
I will be the leader So I will find the path that is best.
If I feel that my front skid got hit, I will direct you another way.
It is a breeze though.
That and you already got more clearance over us Runner guys anyway.

Wow, you guys are generous.

I realize I was being a complete moron WRT metric tires sizes (jeebus confusing!)... I wanna go a shade wider than stock, I could go to 33" but was thinking of doing 32" because of the gas mileage stuff. Then again I could be wrong completely and end up with just the 1.5" BL.

I didn't get my F'n running boards off today either, snow on ground and no empty garage space (dad's 70' benz 280s, 74 Porsche 914, parts from an 81 jetta, and the 94 jetta that we were heart-transplating were taking up the all 3 garage bays...). truth be told i'm a bit scared, and I'm a complete noob when it comes to 'true offroad'. Most of my stuff has been farting around in teh state forest roads (no winter maint! yay!) and a few public-land true trails. I go slow and try not to drive over anything too tall

Anyway, cross your fingers that I've got cash for the tires by the time we're running the terrain park. Assuming, that is, that I can make it and don't get eaten by work. (being a senior sys admin can suck somtimes!)

No Prob!
I love working on My Runner, and helping other guys and gals out so.

Well I am sure you can go up to 32s and still get a 2" body lift.
Since that will offer for more improvement down the road.

If you don't have the running boards off when we go up, we will take them off while were up there lol!!!
It take ten min to do it.

Can I come visit one day and take that 914 out for a spin.
I am a big fan of classic Porches, Favorite one that I would liek to own one day is the 944 Cabriolet.

I was scared $***less my first trip up to Paragon,
Only because I didn't know exactly what I could do.
Since I was with two lifted Rigs.
But when I was doing fine, if not better in some cases I Got confident, Not cocky, but def confident.
Once you get out there and a feel you will be fine.

Prayer sent, I am right now in debate over Goodyear MT/Rs or BFG M/Ts
Because byt he end of the summer I will be needing those 33s (or 35s) and as much as I love my A/Ts I think It might be a good idea to upgrade.

I just checked out my bank account... I could get the tires this month but that'll leave me with next to no money... I'll keep you posted but right now I'm gonna say that I don't think I'll be making it due to financial constraints.
