Cow Mountain May 1st!?
Hey y'all, new to Norcal. Just moved to Healdsburg, Sonoma County last week. I'm thinkin of hitting up South Cow Mountain Sunday, May 1st for a little wheelin. Don't know anybody up here, barrrely know the area. Anybody who's up for it, join in! I'd love to get to know some Norcal Yota drivers, check out the trails, etc. It's up on the Yotatech calendar. Hope to see some of you there!

Actually, I can't do May 1st either. But can definitely do Saturday! So Saturday at 9 AM Cow Mountain staging area. I will make an effort at getting a trail map but if anyone's got one or knows the trails, I've only wheeled there once and it was over a year ago so feel free to lead. See y'all there!

South Cow Mountain's the OHV area. It's got well over 100 miles of trails, mostly on the mellower side with a few more challenging spots. I'll pick up a map at the ranger's station beforehand and we'll try to plan out at least the first few trails.

To get there:
From Ukiah, take State Highway 101 to the Talmage Road exit. Go east on Talmage Road about 1.5 miles. Turn right at Old River Road. and proceed 0.3 miles to Mill Creek Road. Turn left on Mill Creek Road and continue east 6 miles to entrance to South Cow Mountain.
Here's a link to the BLM map of the park-

We'll meet at Westside Staging Area 9am. Looks like the trails are loops that begin and end off of one big unpaved drag between Ukiah and Lakeport. One way to go would be to start in Ukiah and end in Lakeport, hitting several trails along the way. Some trails might depend on stream height at water crossings and the park closes during rains, so I'll be sure to keep an eye on the weather and keep up to date on trail conditions between now and then. I'll PM you guys my cell number and we can coordinate details over text as well.

So who's going? I just looked it up. It's 3 hours for me to get to the West staging area so I don't know if I could be there by 9. I've got a a guide book with some GPS coordinates in it for the trail. It has about 6 waypoints.
