Tires for a 1987 4 runner

Hello. I’m new to the site but have followed for a while. I’m looking at either the Toyo R/T’s or the BFG KO2’s. The Toyo’s weigh 56 lbs each, the KO’s weigh 43lbs at 31/10.5 tire size. The engine is the 4 cylinder 22RE so weight is an issue. Ill also be putting a Alu Cab Gen 3 roof tent and spending weeks in my truck in Baja and Mohave desert, as well as the Pacific Northwest. My main question is If the weight difference between the two is a minor issue or should I just go with the lighter tire?
Thanks
Chris

Are your drag racing or cruising?

Dyno results (Google is your friend) show about a 0.5-2whp per pound depending on where the weight is in relation to the center of rotation.

I'm to lazy to dig up the math, but lighter is always better. 1hp ~= 33000 ftlb/hr (? From memory)

That’s what I figured, that engine only cruises...Both those tires seem very well reviewed so it makes sense to go with the lighter tire, especially since I will be adding other weight. Thanks for the reply
