1st Gen 4Runner Steering Wheel switch
Hey guys,
I have a 1985 4Runner with tilt wheel. When I got it, the windshield wiper arm was broken off and I am finally getting around to replacing it. I thought this would be a super easy fix so I ordered the 35180 switch with turn signal and wiper arm and the 15 pin switch. When I pulled off the steering wheel and pulled the old one off.. the new replacement is about 3-4 inches too short. Also the new replacement switch says A10 and is black. The current one in the 4Runner says A11 and is Blue. Unfortunately most of the rest of the numbers are rubbed off and I cant compare the part number. It is a tilt wheel, but I cant figure out why they are not he same. I am now wondering if my steering column was swapped out by a previous owner. Any ideas or help would really be appreciated. When I can get a pic to post I will, if it helps.

Look here and see what the original part number of your switch should be:::

Steering wheel switch problem on 1st gen
Thanks for the link and awesome reference for sure. I never could find my current part number listed on the data base which again makes me think maybe a prior owner may have swapped out the steering column. But check this out, I finally found one online after looking literally for several weeks, but guess what.. it is broken -see the link -

My old or current part number is Toyota 84310-35190 as in the link and it is Blue. The replacement which all the books say fit is a Toyota 84310-35180. The last 2 digits are 35190 vs 35180. I am also beginning to think the "90" may be a tilt wheel which mine has and is longer length connections vs the "80" version. I will keep looking and thanks again for your help.
If anyone has run into this before, please let me know. and thanks
