Unhappy Downey Off Road

Bought a front cross member last April. Downey said 3-4 weeks. It took 8 weeks. I had to call them for updates. They never called me to indicate the shipment would be late.

Does anyone else have problems with Downey?

Yes, a few years back I ordered two of their T shirts.
They said they would ship them the next day.

A few weeks went by and I called them long distance of course , and they said they were out of stock.
I was charged already for them too.

They told me a few more times they would be shipping shortly.
It took about 3 months to finally get them.

They lie to you on the phone.
They have great coils for 2 gen 4Runners, but I will never buy anything from them again.

They are also in the dark ages when it comes to customer service, and that so called website of theirs.

Yeah... I gotta say that I'm happy with my Downey headers, but they really don't get the concept of customer service or estimating delivery dates.

I've got to agree with the consensus. I also bought the HD coils, but didn't get much out of their web site and wasn't very impressed with their customer service on the phone. I couldn't find anyone who had the coils in stock so I called Downey directly. They told me they had just sent a batch of coils out to be powder coated and that they would be ready to go in a couple of days. I called back several times over the next couple of weeks until they had them ready. I ordered them from Mike at Extreme Off-Road. He had them shipped directly from Downey. It wasn't his fault, but they took quite a bit longer to get here than I expected.
