Hey has anyone changed out their turn signal bulbs with PnP LEDs? If so, which bulbs did you use, and how is their visibility during the day?

I tried a pair out...ones you can get from superbrightleds.com. However, I returned them two days later. At night, they're great...but durning the day, you can barely even see them blink!

Here's what I tried:

Rear Turn Signals
Quantity: 2
Product: 7443-15 LED bulb $ 6.99 (each)
Options: Amber

However, if you wanted to try them out (and see how poorly of a job they do), you will need bulb 7440-15.

I even tried replacing my backup bulbs with these. They were even worse! I could not see crap while backing up. Sent these back too a day later:

Back-Up
Quantity: 2
Product: 7443 x WHP3 LED bulb $ 12.95 (each)
Options: White

Both can be found here: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...gi?product=CAR

Those must be cheap bulbs, i know that my LED's i got from Vleds are a lot brighter than the normal lights. The backup lights will light up the whole street! same for the turn and brake.

Of course they were a lot more $$, about $20 each.

Hey Texas Ace, which bulbs are you running? I currently have leds for my backup lights and I like them.

I ordered some new backup bulbs and some signal bulbs for the new tails yesterday from V-Leds. I've gotten almost all of mine from there. I guess we'll see how they work out...

This is what I bought:

48 LED 7440 for turn signal

36 LED 921 for backup

If they work well and are bright enough, then I'll have to get some 60 LED bulbs for the front signals Anyone had any luck finding an LED 3rd brake light? Or should I just get a PnP bulb up there as well?

Hmmm, i just looked at there site and it looks like they don't make the ones i have any more. They were 30 led bulbs if i remmeber right but those you have there looks like they might be brighter. Mine are REALLY bright in about a 180 degrees cone out the back but from the side are just ok. Which for my tails is fine.

those above look to be brighter and have more 360 degree range. let us know how they work!

LOL, so am i to a degree but i am saving up to get my Supercharger and just can't spare $200 on tails. Once i get all the drive train taken care of I will need to do the inside then i will start worring about the outside.

I hope to get my SC done this summer if i can find a good deal on one (if someone find a good deal on a SC let me know).

Awesome, didn't know you were getting a Supercharger, but man gas prices are so high and that's gonna lower your MPG even more!

Not really, the numbers i have seen with a SC are usually about the same as without.

I expect about a 10% - 20% drop in MPG, which i can live with for the extra power i will get.

Either way, it will be a lot more fun to drive after the SC.

The only real reason you may get worse MPG when you have a s/c are because you tend to put your foot down more

The real stinker is that you have to run premium fuel. I only drive mine on weekends or special occations. I drive my 'lil GMC Sonoma for work and such....

True, though i tend to have a lead foot a bit too much anyways.

For me though i only drive about 2000 - 3000 miles a year (unless i go to oklahoma for D-day (paintball game)) So gas is not as big of a problem as most people. Pretty much just drive around town and to work (just up the street).

I got my tails!!! I was home almost all afternoon and the UPS guy brought them 15 minutes before I had to go to work. So, that's what I'll be playing with when I get home tonight

But wow. Just from taking a look at them for a few minutes I am really impressed with the quality. They look great! I can't wait to see them actually on my truck and lit up! I received those LED bulbs for the turn signals and reverse lights as well, and at least they look good when they're off cuz they're clear. I'll let you all know how they work out...
