depends on your definition of "OK" and "just connect them together." If you connect them in SERIES you will get 24volts, not ok. Wire them in PARALLEL and you will keep 12 volts. To wire in Parallel connect the positive to positive and the negative to the negative.

I would stay with the same spec battery that you already have in there.

Series is not positive to negative and negative to positive...that is a bomb, don't do that.

Series is connecting one positive terminal from the first battery to one negative from the second battery. The remaining positive is your hot lead and the remaining negative goes to ground.

use a volt meter for sure to check everything when you are done before you turn anything on.

The 9k will, check the specs on the 12k and if it's the same as the 9k it will fit too.

How much current does the winch pull and how many amp hours is your battery rated to?

Until the battery is dead

I've never run dual batteries or a HO alternator in 20+ years of wheeling... You'll be fine.

I would definitely buy the winch first. Just zip tie it to your grill until you get a bumper to mount it to. ......that's like wiping before you poop. Don't make no sense.

I have that bumper on my 4runner! I still have yet to put a winch on it, it makes a great table for tools and such as well as a nice step.

I would imagine getting the bumper first, because you need that before the winch. I have a hf coupon for the badland 12000 lb winch for $300. How much is the 9000 lb one?

Another question is are the winches Harbor Freight sale worth a crap? Be one of those that look good on your bumper until you use it?

I would suggest a Engo and Smittybuilt. I run a XRC8 myself and I know some guys who run Engos and say they do pretty well.

Engo is ran by the son of the CEO of Milemarker.

Here is some info on the ENGO http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f43/e...pping-1238320/

Oh and for thos who do not know how to google or are to lazy http://www.engousa.com/c/electric-winches
