Go as big as you can afford. You can never have too much pulling power, but you can have too little! We put the 8000 on my dads 66 bronco and it works well for all kinds of jeep rescues, but slows down with the really stuck big trucks. just my 2c ... I can't afford a com-a-long !

Right, what shiftless said. Spend as much money as you can on a winch, you won't be sorry when you need it.
But if you want something sooner than you can afford a 9000 or 12000, then go at least 8000. The 6000 is too small. You should buy at least 1 1/2 times the weight of your truck... And get a GOOD snatch block.

biggest your truck and your wallet can handle... i know sometimes there are sisues with being poor or with a 12000 winch not being able to fit on a 4000 trucks bumper.... but biggest you can do in both situations will be best....

Thanks for the replies fellas.
The ARB bumper I am gonna order says it takes either the Warn 8000 or 9000.
My brother-in-law uses a 8000 on a full size Ford. But of course I will take your advice over his being that he drives a Ford.
I will most likely get an 8000 and go with it, no heavy rock climbing here just allot of muddy fields and river banks.
