will a 97 3rd member fit in an 85

rear 3rd q's

I dont see why not but id guess id check. Will a 97 rear 4x4 3rd w/ the electronic locker fit in my front 85 axle. Also can that 97 3rd be regeard to 5.29.

no it will not fit, the housing of the old truck will need to be slightly modified... it is a very doable swap though and has been done oddoles of times.... http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/electric_locker/

like jim said, it will fit, but only by modifying the housing.

yes, it can be regeared, just like any other V6 8" toyota third.

You can try and PM Scotter22 for more info. He has a 92' pick with TRD lockers front and back with 5.29 gears. I think he is running an 85' axle up front too.

What about the abs sensor in my 3rd. do I have to find a 3rd with the abs sensor bc the 3rd gen and the 1st gen doesnt have it. Or can I just disco it ( I really hate my rear abs).
